Paul's Donuts Subs & Gyros

A follow-up to a previous post (Dnutz*)

I had the chance to go to my local fave food joint. Located near downtown Fort Worth, Paul’s Donuts Subs and Gyros is THE place to eat. The food is great, the chocolate donuts are the best I’ve ever had. But hands down, what makes this a local fave is the service and loyalty. A family-run business, Paul’s provides the best in friendliness, cleanliness, and deliciousness.

Here are pictures that really don’t do much justice. While driving on Hwy 287 into Fort Worth, I pulled over and took these pics of ominous clouds approaching the area for late afternoon/evening showers. Texas Motor Speedway

The Texas Motor Speedway just north of downtown Fort Worth. You can take the Texas Ultimate Driving Experience and race in one of these bad boys.

This is one of many signs in and around the Fort Worth area reflective of its growth. The signage also serves a purpose of decluttering those annoying small signs stagger-stacked on street sides. (whew-say that last part 10times)

Dunkin’ Donuts. Coming back with a vengeance especially in Texas. Watch out Starbucks…Although Dunkin Donuts is a franchise fave, for those in Fort Worth, we still highly recommend local Paul’s Donuts and Gyros: 1324 Hemphill St Fort Worth, TX 76104, (817) 926-5500. The chocolate donuts are made from fudge, and well…you just have to try it.. Next time I go there, I will take the pic.

Can nature really have a “hidden” gem? I went for a little mountain bike ride and found a hidden gem in the North Richland Hills/ Keller / Southlake nature trails. Absolutely beautiful…springtime…birds, trees, kids playing, and a patch of serenity in the city. I will have to find out more about the expansive trails from local bike shops.

This picture of the Tarrant County Courthouse building was taken few blocks away on Main Street in Downtown Fort Worth. I’m not too sure of the history behind the building, but from the  wiki entry,  it was built to model the Capitol Building. However,  I read some historic landmark while running on the Trinity Trail that Fort Worth was at one time the capital of Texas. Therefore, I’m not too sure which came first.  When I do find out definitively, I will post accordingly.

2009 Cowtown T-shirt and logo

I have survived. The Cowtown run was great. Over 17K people participated. I ran the half-marathon last year, and truly a quite scenic run through the arts, museum, college districts…very uniqe. ( I couldn’t take pictures while running, so the T-shirt logo will have to suffice.) Go to the website and check it out…race weather was few degrees above freezing with a crazy wind chill. Fun, nonetheless.
